The Croydon Foodbank team was delighted to have been chosen to receive a £4,000 donation from the TUUT Charitable Trust in January 2015.
Carmen Elvy Administrator) and Kingsley Ofon (Project Manager) welcomed Marion Colverd (General Manager) of TU Fund Managers when she dropped in to present the cheque and find out a little more about the workings of the foodbank.
They explained that the local communities particularly churches, schools and supermarkets were very active in collecting long-life foodstuffs for the foodparcels, cash donations however were thinner on the ground. The £4,000 donation from the TUUT Charitable Trust will be a great help in funding the fixed costs of the foodbank for 2015 including rent, heating etc.
